Amazing #TeamDrew Transformation

Everyone meet Kelly Dugas from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana :

Here is Kelly's story:

Where do I begin? I have battled my weight for most of my life. I was chubby as a kid and got into weight lifting in my teenage years. I lost all the “baby" fat and looked pretty decent in my high school years. In my twenties, I would lift weights, but I never knew the importance of diet and cardio in order to reach the ripped look that I wanted so badly. In the last 15 years, I have slowly watched my weight go from 215 to 330. The weight really came on when I decided to finish up my degree in my early thirties, and worked 40+ hours a week and went to college full time. My regular checkups with my doctor always ended the same. I would have excellent blood work and test results and my doctor would tell me, “You look good on paper, but if you don't do something soon it will catch up with you”.

Every night while lying in bed, I take my iPhone and flip through the headlines on Yahoo. On Sunday December 4th , I came across a story about this ripped up personal trainer who had let himself go and became fat and was going to show people how to lose it. With my fiancé and children depending on me to be around for a long time and a upcoming wedding planned for the end of May 2012, I decided it was time to stop talking about making a change and time to start doing it. I started my journey with you on December 5 (when you started the exercise portion of the program). I looked at the weeks exercise and meal plans and said this is it, I will stop the little exercise programs I had been doing and go all in with this guy. I will give it a week and see what happens. I gave my fiancé the list of groceries we would need and told her of my plan to follow this guy. I lost 8 pounds the first week and just kept going. It became a routine for me. Every day I was doing something that kept it fresh in my mind: workouts during the week, watching you weigh in on Saturday, printing my workouts and any recipes I needed on Sunday.

At first I felt I couldn't do it, because I wasn't very good with pushups, but after reading that even you had to drop to your knees to finish a set. I knew I was on the right track. My before picture is from my daughters junior high homecoming court on October 11, 2011. I weighed between 325 and 330. In my “half way” picture (my “after” pic will come later in the year, I promise), I’m at 269. I feel so much better now and can feel the difference in my body. I still have a long way to go, but I now know I have the ability to meet my goals. I just want to thank Drew and Lynn for doing this. They have truly helped me see the way. I will keep you posted.
