Amazing #TEAMDREW Transformation

Here is Corey's story:

I am a 31 year old who had been in pretty good shape until I graduated college.  I used to work out, but not as much as I loved to eat and drink.  To make matters worse, I went to school in Buffalo, NY where everything is super carb loaded, fried and served with beer and sugary soda. When I entered my freshman year in the fall of 1999, I weighed about 185 lbs with a flat stomach with some definition.  When I graduated, I had ballooned up to 220 lbs with my 6 pack replaced with a keg!


After I graduated, I began working in Manhattan with a few friends, and we would workout every day after work, but I wasn't getting in better shape because I still ate horribly wrong.  Pizza, pasta, nachos, tacos, beer, all in LARGE quantities.  The weight just kept adding on and adding on.  I stopped working out altogether and just ballooned up.  Before my wedding in 2009, I was able to lose some weight, but it wasn't a real program and was just a short term goal.  I lost some pounds, but didn't really lose any inches off my measurements.  

I was a Math teacher for 3 years, but was let go because of down sizing due to budget cuts in the district.  I fell into a depression and didn't want to do anything, just sit on the couch.  In the late spring of 2012, I reached my highest weight of 243 lbs.  I refused to buy new clothes because I didn't want to see pants with a waist size in the 40s in my closet.  But I lost that battle and had to buy new pants.  I bought size 42's, even though they were tight on me, because I was in denial.  I was resigned to the fact that I would be 240 the rest of my life, and wouldn't allow myself to get any bigger, but couldn't lose the weight, it was too hard.  Then in the very beginning of June, I saw a story on the front page of cnn.com of Drew's journey.  I saw the picture of Drew at his heaviest and thought, "hey, that looks like me!  If he can do it, why on earth can't I do it?"

I decided to put my free time due to unemployment to good use.  I looked up as much information as I could on Drew and his journey and found his book and website.  The next day I went shopping, cleaned out my kitchen and cabinets of the bad junk food, and truly started a healthy lifestyle.  My wife couldn't have been more supportive.  She helped me clear out the junk and would help me buy good foods (she already ate very well).  I tried the different recipes, and LOVED them.  My favorites (besides the spinach shake of course!) are the Chili Chicken Monterrey, and the chicken pizza, which I personalized with my favorite ingredients.  I did only the core exercises and changed my diet for the first month, and ended up losing 14 lbs and 4 inches.  When you see those results, you know you are doing the right thing, and I couldn't wait to hit the gym.

I followed Drew's exercises and kept eating right, and after 26 weeks I couldn't believe how AMAZING I felt.  My weight is down to 190 lbs.  I had lost 50 lbs and 12 inches.  I just went clothes shopping over the weekend and bought size 34 jeans.  THIRTY FOUR!!  I haven't fit into those since high school.  My definition is coming back, and I can actually see my abs again.  There is no way I could have done it without Drew's program.

I find myself paying it forward.  All I want to do is help others now.  I have turned countless people on to Drew's program and love helping them along the way.  It is a new passion I have.  While I do understand all the hard work that I put in to make this change happen, I cannot thank Drew enough for giving me the proper inspiration at the right time in my life to make this change.  Drew, if you ever find yourself in New York (or on Long Island), there's a spinach shake waiting for ya on me! (since, ya know, beer isn't in my new lifestyle!)


It TRULY is a lifestyle, NOT a diet!  I have my spinach shake EVERY DAY for breakfast, in fact, that is what I crave!!
