Like many others, I have struggled with my weight for some time. I get healthy for a couple years and then unhealthy eating takes over and I gain weight. Each time it seems to be a little more and over the last 10 years I went from 220 lbs to 315 lbs, the most I have ever weighed. I was disgusted and depressed with what had happened. I knew what I needed to do but never felt motivated to do it. About the same time this challenge was announced, I watched a documentary on sugar and how it is hidden in everything we eat. I was blown away and from that day vowed to cut sugar from the foods I was eating. The timing was more than just a coincidence, it was what I needed to save my life. It was my motivation to succeed and get healthy for my kids and wife. I thought I knew what keto was, but my understanding has been taken to the next level. Instead of a diet, I have found my new lifestyle and have even got my wife to join me in the journey. In the last 60 days, I have lost 32 lbs, dropped 8% body fat and 12 inches in measurements. Instead of feeling tired and depressed, I feel invigorated and so happy. I haven’t felt this way in a long time and I owe it to keto. I am so excited to see what is to come, rather than feel restricted, I feel like I am free, free to eat whole, healthy food. No longer will processed foods be a part of my life, keto is now my life.
Side note- Thank you so much Drew, I have followed you since the beginning when you did the fit2fat2fit journey and you just make things easier. Most people aren’t as real and down to earth as you are, it really does help and I just want to say thank you. I finally have found something that just feels like it’s meant for me to do and succeed at.
